In a surprise announcement on March 4, founder and chief producer Yang Hyun Suk unveiled the agency’s ambitious roadmap for 2026, which includes a legendary BIGBANG 20th-anniversary world tour, comebacks from BABYMONSTER and TREASURE, and the debut of new groups.

BIGBANG Returns for 20th Anniversary World Tour

The most significant announcement is the return of K-Pop legends BIGBANG. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut, the group will embark on a global world tour. This will be their first tour in nine years, since the “Last Dance” tour in 2017. In a video announcement reported by Korea JoongAng Daily, Yang Hyun Suk confirmed, “We have agreed with the members of Big Bang to hold the event.” While further details are yet to be revealed, the news marks a monumental moment for the group and their fans, the V.I.P.s.

BABYMONSTER and TREASURE: Back-to-Back Comebacks and Tours

YG’s rising stars are also set for a busy year. According to Soompi, rookie girl group BABYMONSTER will release a new mini-album titled “CHOOM” (춤, meaning “dance”) in early May, followed by a full-length album in the fall. They are also scheduled to start their second world tour in June, covering South America, Europe, and Oceania.

Boy group TREASURE will make their comeback in June with a new mini-album focused on a hip-hop concept. Yang Hyun Suk teased, “You’ll be amazed to see TREASURE doing this kind of music in this album. Expect something new, cool, and quintessentially YG.” The group’s popular unit T5 will also return, and a new rapper unit featuring Choi Hyun Suk, Haruto, and Yoshi will debut.

The Next Generation: New Boy and Girl Groups on the Horizon

As YG Entertainment celebrates its 30th anniversary, it continues to look to the future. The agency is preparing to debut a new boy group in the fall of 2026. Additionally, as reported by The Chosun Daily, the final two members of the upcoming four-member girl group, tentatively named “Next Monster,” will be revealed soon, with a planned debut in 2027.
