The K-Pop world was met with bittersweet news as ZEROBASEONE, the project group born from Mnet’s “Boys Planet,” announced a major shift in its lineup. Following the conclusion of their project contracts, the group is embarking on a new chapter, reorganizing as a five-member team. This new formation is set to make its official debut at KCON JAPAN 2026, marking a pivotal moment for the group and their dedicated fanbase, ZEROSE.
A New Beginning: The 5-Member Lineup
On February 12, agency WAKEONE confirmed that ZEROBASEONE will continue its journey with five members: Sung Hanbin, Kim Jiwoong, Seok Matthew, Kim Taerae, and Park Geonwook. According to the official statement published by The Chosun Daily, the decision was made after deep discussions with the artists and their respective agencies. Meanwhile, members Zhang Hao, Ricky, Kim Gyuvin, and Han Yujin have completed their project period and will be embarking on new paths. WAKEONE expressed its support for the departing members’ future endeavors.
An Emotional Farewell and a Promising Future
The transition was marked by an emotional final nine-member concert in Japan on February 19. As reported by Koreaboo, the members couldn’t hold back their tears on stage, with Kim Jiwoong and Zhang Hao sharing heartfelt goodbyes with their fans. While the original nine-member era has come to a close, the musical legacy of ZEROBASEONE is set to continue. WAKEONE has assured fans that the group’s identity and values will remain unchanged as they move forward.
Debut Stage at KCON JAPAN 2026
The newly formed five-member ZEROBASEONE is not wasting any time. They are scheduled to make their first official appearance at KCON JAPAN 2026, which will take place from May 8-10 at Makuhari Messe. According to allkpop, the event will also feature a special role for leader Sung Hanbin, who has been named the first-ever “KCON Global Ambassador.” This high-profile stage will be the first opportunity for fans to witness the new dynamic and performance of the reorganized group.
