THIS & THAT came out on August 7, 2026 at 1 p.m. KST, as the group’s first full release in nine months after DO IT, according to the Korea Times. The standard edition has eight tracks, listed on the Wikipedia page for the album.

- This & That (Festival version, with Tele)
3RACHA members Bang Chan, Changbin and Han are credited as co-writers on every track, per the same tracklist page. “Run It” arrived earlier as a digital pre-release on June 24, which we covered in our RUN IT single and MV breakdown.
Watching the THIS & THAT Music Video and Dance Practice
The official music video was released on JYP Entertainment’s YouTube channel on August 7. It reached 100 million views on September 23, 47 days after release, making it the group’s fastest video to hit that mark, Soompi reported. It beat the earlier record held by “Thunderous.”
The video runs 193 seconds and was directed by Bang Jae-yeob, per the Wikipedia entry. It shows the group dancing in an open industrial setting with paper-like shards flying through the air, which gives the hip-hop title track a sharp visual identity.
The group also posted a studio dance practice video on its own channel. A Kyunghyang Sports report from August 12 noted that the music video passed 50 million views in about three days.
Chart Record: Billboard 200, Hot 100 and World Albums
The World Albums No. 1 comes after a strong debut. THIS & THAT entered the Billboard 200 at No. 1 on the chart dated August 22 with 369,000 equivalent album units, including 357,000 in traditional album sales, as Soompi relayed from Billboard.
That made Stray Kids the first act in the chart’s history to debut its first nine charting albums at No. 1, and it tied them with The Rolling Stones for the second-most No. 1 albums by a group. The Beatles lead with 19, per the Korea Herald.
On the singles side, the title track debuted at No. 38 on the Hot 100, their highest placement on that chart so far (Khaleej Times). In the Korean market, Kyunghyang Sports reported No. 1 on the Hanteo and Circle weekly album charts in its first week.
World Albums history gives this week some context. As of the Forbes October 2 chart report, KARMA held the group’s longest run at No. 1 on that chart with 10 weeks, followed by ROCK-STAR with nine, while ATE and DO IT had eight each. At eight weeks, THIS & THAT now sits level with those two.
Seen against the group’s earlier releases, the title track’s reach is notable. Its Hot 100 placement is the highest of their career, and the video’s 100 million milestone came faster than any of their previous 20 full-group videos, according to Soompi.
Background: From RUN IT to the Run It World Tour
JYP Entertainment announced the album on June 22 alongside a new world tour, and the Korea Times noted that the group’s previous tour had ended in October with 56 shows in 35 cities. We covered that announcement in our THIS & THAT and world tour preview.
The group had also performed at Rock in Rio and its own festival series in Latin America this year, which we detailed in our STRAYCITY report. Those appearances kept the group active in the months around the album cycle.
How Fans Are Reacting
STAY, the fandom, have driven much of the numbers above. The music video topped YouTube’s worldwide music video trending chart within a day of release, Soompi reported, and the title track took No. 1 on Spotify’s global debut chart for August 7 to 9, per Kyunghyang Sports.
After the Billboard 200 result, the group posted a thank-you message to STAY on X on August 18, celebrating their best Hot 100 position and another No. 1 album, according to Khaleej Times. The latest World Albums return suggests fans are still buying the album two months later.
Because World Albums is driven largely by physical sales in the U.S., repeat appearances at No. 1 usually point to continued demand for different editions of the album. The Wikipedia page lists CD, mini CD and vinyl formats, plus Cool and Chill editions that followed on August 8 (details here).
What’s Next
The 2026 MAMA Awards are set for November 20 and 21 at Kyocera Dome Osaka, with Stray Kids among the artists competing, per Malay Mail. The second round of fan voting is scheduled to run from October 28 to November 18.
Billboard publishes new chart rankings every week, so the next World Albums update will show whether THIS & THAT can add a ninth week at No. 1. We will update the story as new chart data arrives.
Fans can also keep an eye on Stray Kids’ official YouTube and X accounts for any new announcements tied to the album cycle. Any confirmed schedule changes or new stage dates will be added here once the group or JYP Entertainment announces them.
